I will start things off for you!
My husband and I had been dating for over a year. He asked for my parents permision in 1996, before Christmas. He decided to wait until Valentines Day 1997 to finally pop the question. I had gone to his house to wake him up and give him my Valentine when out from under his pillow he pulls out a small box. I was so excited that I made him get up and we drove around to my parents jobs to show off the ring and make the announcement. I was so happy that it was all finally happeneing! I started planning right away! And no I can't remember what I had gotten him for Valentine Day. I guess it really didn't matter!

Eric planned a secret getaway for Kelly's birthday. He had a limo pick them up and take them to Long Beach Harbor to board a boat to Catalina. Eric planned one thing after another for two days and they were having a blast. On the second night, they had a very romantic dinner at a restaurant on the harbor and decided to walk back to their hotel so that they could enjoy the beautiful night. During the walk back to the hotel, Eric said the most wonderful things to Kelly and she could tell that he was a little nervous but had no idea why.
When they got to their hotel, they stood out on the balcony enjoying the view of the Harbor with the boats lit up and the full moon shining down on them. Eric said 'I have one more surprise for you' and handed Kelly a little box. Her first thought was 'wow! he bought me earrings!' When she opened the box she was looking at the most beautiful ring that she had ever seen. He took the box from her and said "let me do this the right way" and he got on his knee. He said 'Kelly, I love you more than anything in this world and I want you to be my wife... will you marry me?' Kelly was shocked and so excited - there is nobody in this world that she would rather spend her life with than her best friend.
